Activities could be personalized according to the need! After several experiences in American universities study abroad program, international/public schools in Italy and abroad (kindly refer to this link: http://www.sanafirenze.com/en/news/), the continuous rise in interest in addiction field was recognized. Addictions coming not only from substances (drugs, alcohol, nicotine, etc.) but also from lifestyle (food, electronics, gaming/gambling, sex, sport, etc.), offering though a link to the traditions and styles of the Tuscan way of life.
The most effective and feasible project for universities so far was by making this activity part of the guest lectures, lecture’s series, or any other event the school considers relevant. Starting with a short theoretical part watching a documentary made by gathering experts in the field from all over the world leaving more time then for Q&As. The documentary explains causes and origin of addiction, how it develops, and similarities between substance & lifestyle addictions.
High students’ involvement was noticed when given the possibility to send their questions from the beginning till the end through anonymous-based website, papers, texting, etc. Instantaneous messaging and answering have developed an interactive ambient where they ended up to be the real event protagonists!
